Between 2020 and 2024, Anouk conducted doctoral research on severe, persistent fatigue in adolescents with chronic illnesses (in the departments of Rheumatology/Immunology and Social Pediatrics). In her research, she evaluated the effectiveness of personalized lifestyle advice and general dietary advice in reducing fatigue symptoms. She utilized an innovative research design, namely a randomized cross-over trial with an embedded single-case observational design. The articles from her doctoral research are compiled in a dissertation titled "Management of persistent fatigue: No individual acts like a group."

Immediately after completing her dissertation, Anouk began working as a postdoctoral researcher at the Wilhelmina Children's Hospital, in the Social Pediatrics department. In this role, she is further exploring Single-Case Experimental Designs (SCEDs) and Single-Case Observational Designs (SCODs) and the analytical techniques associated with them. At the same time, she provides statistical support to PhD candidates in the Social Pediatrics department and supervises a PhD candidate as a co-supervisor.

Tussen 2020 en 2024 heeft Anouk promotieonderzoek uitgevoerd naar zware, aanhoudende vermoeidheid bij jongeren met een chronische ziekte (op de afdelingen Reumatologie/Immunologie en Sociale Pediatrie). In haar onderzoek evalueerde ze de effectiviteit van gepersonaliseerd leefstijladvies en algemeen voedingsadvies op het verminderen van vermoeidheidsklachten. Daarbij maakte ze gebruik van een innovatief onderzoeksdesign, namelijk een randomized cross-over trial met ingebouwd single-case observational design. De artikelen uit haar promotietraject zijn gebundeld in een proefschrift getiteld "Management of persistent fatigue: No individual acts like a group".

Direct na afronding van haar proefschrift is Anouk gestart als postdoc-onderzoeker in het Wilhelmina Kinderziekenhuis, afdeling Sociale Pediatrie. In deze functie verdiept ze zich verder in Single-Case Experimental Designs (SCEDs) en Single-Case Observational Designs (SCODs) en de analysetechnieken die hierbij om de hoek komen kijken. Tegelijkertijd biedt ze statistische ondersteuning aan PhD'ers van de afdeling Sociale Pediatrie en begeleidt ze een PhD'er als co-promotor.
