Biography

Michiel Voskuil was born in Amsterdam in 1973 and studied medicine in the same city, where he received his medical degree in 1999. He has done his PhD under the guidance of Prof. Dr. J.J. Piek at the cardiac catheterization department of the Academic Medical Center (AMC) in Amsterdam (thesis in 2003: “Experimental and clinical studies on collateral and epicardial flow in obstructive arterial disease”). His training cardiology and fellowship interventional cardiology were also followed at the AMC. From 2010 he works as interventional cardiologist at the University Medical Center in Utrecht. His areas of interest are, outside the regular percutaneous coronary intervention program, the catheter treatment of hypertension and congenital heart disease in adults. He is part of the Working group for Renal Denervation and Interventional Cardiology of the NVVC (Nederlandse Vereniging Voor Cardologie).
