Scientific internship Radiology
Radiology and nuclear medicine are undergoing significant development. Scientific research is consolidated in the Center for Image Sciences (CIS). Increasingly advanced equipment and expertise are leading to a rapid increase in both diagnostic and therapeutic possibilities. Many physician-researchers work in the Department of Radiology at UMC Utrecht, which also includes nuclear medicine. A number of them enter training to become radiologists after their research period. There is close collaboration with most departments of UMC Utrecht regarding both patient care and scientific research. Additionally, there is close research cooperation with the Image Sciences Institute (ISI), a research center focused on innovations in the acquisition and processing of medical images. As a department, we offer you a varied and educational scientific internship in an inspiring environment.
The main research themes within radiology are:
Cerebrovascular medicine
Cardiovascular medicine
Regenerative medicine
Oncology
Infection and immunity
Pediatrics
Various research projects are offered within these themes. Publishing a scientific article based on the internship is a possibility and is certainly not an exception. However, it should be noted that this chance increases with the duration of the internship.
For whom
CRU Master Year 1, 2 or 3
Summa Year 4
student Honours Programme
Technical Medicine students
