Core facilities of the Center for Translational Immunology (CTI)
The CTI imaging core facility (CFI) uitklapper, klik om te openen
The CTI imaging core facility (CFI) consist of a Zeiss Confocal LSM 710, Olympus IX83 fluorescence microscope, and a high throughput Incucyte S3 for (live cell) fluorescent imaging. A Zeiss LSM 880 Two photon microscope, which is equipped to perform intravital imaging is also managed by the CFI. Dedicated staff maintains the equipment and ensures a high-level training of all users. The staff additionally provides support in setting up experiments, operation of the microscopes and data analysis.

Flow Cytometry uitklapper, klik om te openen
The facility gives access to calibrated equipment and assistance in performing cell analysis and cell separations, provides education on all aspects of flow cytometry and is involved in the identification and implementation of new flow cytometry opportunities.
Please contact the facility for any questions at CFF-AZU@umcutrecht.nl

Antibody Facility UMAB uitklapper, klik om te openen
Monoclonal antibodies are important tools for research, diagnostics and therapeutics. This very efficient cellular immunization method results in antibodies against difficult membrane proteins, such as multispanning membrane proteins, conformational epitopes and we can generate agonistic and antagonistic mAbs.

Proteins uitklapper, klik om te openen
We facilitate and support protein work within the CTI. We consult and advice on DNA plasmid design, PCR and cloning, recombinant protein expression and purification, protein analysis, and functional assays. We check latest developments in protein technology, and we develop and implement novel methods.

Multiplex uitklapper, klik om te openen
Within the Platform Immune Monitoring the MultiPlex Core Facility is state-of-the-art and offers multiple immune-assays based on color-coded microspheres (xMAP technology). It measures up to 190 immune related proteins using less than 200 µl sample volume. The assays are sensitive, precise, optimized and validated and are setup in a flexible and open-architecture infrastructure which allows rapid measurements of any customized combination.

Computational Immunology Core uitklapper, klik om te openen
The Computational Immunology Core facilitates interaction between researchers in Immunology whose research has a strong bioinformatic, statistical or computational component, and provides computational support for researchers and clinicians in need of bioinformatic, statistical or computational expertise. We offer consultancy on data analysis ranging from biostatistics, to T-cell epitope prediction, T-cell repertoire analysis, design of multi-omics experiments, and analysis and interpretation of multi-omics data. In order to facilitate the use of computational tools within the Center for Translational Immunology, we develop standardized, user-friendly pipelines for the analysis of complex data, including multidimensional flow cytometry data, protein biomarkers (Olink and Luminex) and RNA sequencing data.
We are involved in teaching, including basic and advanced courses in biostatistics, R and python, and have developed our own Infection & Immunity Master’s course on Computational Immunology to train (future) immunologists in biostatistics, big data analysis and mathematical modelling.
