Intracranial aneurysms & subarachnoid hemorrhage

Intracranial aneurysms & subarachnoid hemorrhage is ….

The research group on unruptured intracranial aneurysms and subarachnoid hemorrhage at the UMC Utrecht is one of the largest groups in this field worldwide. We aim to elucidate mechanisms of aneurysm formation and rupture, to develop screening strategies for high-risk individuals, and to improve prognosis after aneurysm rupture. Various experts, specialized in genetics, microglia biology, neuroimaging, neurology, neurosurgery, neuropsychology, and rehabilitation medicine closely work together. Novel treatment strategies are being tested in preclinical studies and multicenter clinical trials. We have a strong international network.
