MRI guided proton therapy
An advantage of using protons for radiation therapy is the so called Bragg peak: protons experience an energy dependent absorption in tissue which makes the energy deposition sharply peak in depth (the Bragg peak) and no energy is deposited behind this peak (figure 1).
